ENZED® has been helping keep businesses connected for more than 50 years. What began as a vision to build better hose distribution and replacement support has grown into a trusted hose and fitting service network, supported by local Service Centres, mobile HOSE DOCTOR® service and Parker Hannifin quality product capability.

From the beginning, ENZED® has focused on a practical customer needs: when a hose or connector fails, operators need fast access to the right product, the right assembly and the right support. That service-first thinking helped reshape the hose and connector replacement industry and continues to guide the ENZED® network today.

ENZED® commenced operation in New Zealand in 1972, with a vision to develop comprehensively equipped hose distribution channels for a wide range of industries. The opportunity was clear: customers needed more than product supply. They needed responsive support that could help get machinery and equipment moving again.

ENZED® helped change the way replacement hose assemblies were delivered by supporting customers through Service Centres and mobile HOSE DOCTORS®. This model meant replacement hose assemblies could be developed quickly and reliably, including onsite support.

That combination of product knowledge, local service and mobile response became central to the ENZED® story.

Growing across industries.

In 1981, ENZED® expanded into the Australian marketplace, bringing the same focus on service, quality and customer support to more operators and industries. As the business grew, ENZED® became known for supporting customers who rely on hydraulic, industrial and pneumatic hoses and fittings to keep their operations moving.

The network expanded around industries where downtime matters: agriculture, construction, manufacturing, transport, mining, marine, quarries, councils, food processing and more. ENZED’s® history is closely tied to the machinery, vehicles, plant and equipment that keep these industries working every day.

A new chapter with Parker Hannifin.

In 1989, ENZED® was acquired by Parker Hannifin, a global leader in motion and control technologies. This strengthened ENZED’s® product capability and helped connect local service with global engineering, manufacturing and product support.

Today, ENZED® customers benefit from a network that combines local Service Centre expertise, mobile HOSE DOCTOR® support and access to Parker Hannifin-backed hose and fitting products.

The Parker Appliance Company was founded.

1957

Parker acquires Hannifin, strengthening its position in cylinders and valves.

1964

Parker Hannifin commences trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

1965

Parker Hannifin commences in Australia.

1972

Sharples Engineering, now known as ENZED®, commences operation in New Zealand.

1975

Sharples Engineering changes its name to ENZED® Precision Products.

1981

ENZED® opens in Australia.

1982

The first ENZED® franchises open in Australia.

1988

Primac Holdings (NZ) Limited acquires ENZED®.

1989

Parker Hannifin acquires the ENZED® franchise system and manufacturing operation.

1990

Parker Hannifin’s Wodonga manufacturing plant is established.

1997

ENZED® celebrates 25 years in Australasia.

2005

ENZED’s® current branding is released.

2016

Parker Hannifin Training Centre becomes a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

2022

ENZED® celebrates 50 years in the hose and fitting market.
