Next week ENZED Total Hose and Fitting Service will act as naming rights partner to the 2014 Wood Flow Logistics Conference, being held at the Distinction Rotorua Hotel.
ENZED service centres across New Zealand provide support to a large cross-section of New Zealand’s Forestry Industry and “values the role it plays in contributing to New Zealand’s economic growth, as well as the place it holds in international contributions to a global industry” says ENZED Marketing Specialist Tere Strickland.
In recognition of the sell-out ForestTECH Technology Series’ run in 2013 by the Forest Industry Engineering Association (FIEA), the 2014 Wood Flow Logistics Conference will expand on both safety and steep slope harvesting topics and is set to integrate some exciting new innovations which are being developed within industry. The conference will provide a long overdue and practical update on innovation, strategies and technologies that are being used by leading forest products companies to improve planning, logistics and operations within the wood supply chain.
The conference will also cover international models that add value to supply chain management, innovations for improving harvest planning and operations, remote sensing and real-time tracking of logs and wood products, innovative systems to integrate planning, operations, harvesting & sales, effective tools for collaboration through the wood supply chain, key issues facing wood & timber freight, shipping and transport and new mobile communications and options for integrating into local operations.
The conference will be attended by Forestry managers, transport operators, forest owners, forestry consultants, harvest planners, forestry researchers, harvesting contractors, supply chain and logistics companies and key suppliers to forest growing wood harvesting and transport operations.
Guest speakers in attendance will include Kiwi sporting icon Graham Lowe, who will talk about how GPS monitoring vests used by professional athletes are being remodelled and used by forestry workers.
“Innovation and safety are key messages that ENZED is interested in promoting in working alongside the New Zealand Forestry Industry” says Strickland. “ENZED is proud to be part of this year’s conference and looks forward to continued growth with the industry as these new practices add benefit to the way we do business together.”
