With the majority of the Sprintcar competitors in the South Island it was a quite night for the Sprintcars at Western Springs but never the less a challenging night with front-runner American Ricky Logan competing along with several other quick cars.
Daniel started from grid 3 in his first heat to finish 2nd, and came across the line 4th in the second heat.
Starting from Grid 3 in the feature with Ricky Logan directly behind in 5th. Daniel made a flyer of a start slipping under the 28A car of Jeremy Halpin out of the first corner into the lead and starting pulling a huge gap on the field. Bad luck was about to strike when Daniel’s left rear tyre went flat and no longer able to control the car he had to retire from the race handing the lead back to Jeremy Halpin who was overtaken by American Ricky Logan who just managed to grab the lead on the last lap.
